 Greetings

Dear Members,

The 36th Annual Congress of KSCCM in conjunction with 11th Basic Critical Care Review Course (BCCRC), and 17th Korea-Japan Joint Congress is going to be held Apr 21-23 (Fri - Sun), at Sejong University Convention Center, Seoul.

The program of the meeting is featured with recent trends symposia in critical care, symposium on recent medical legislations, and surgical, nerological critical care, and critical care nursing. One notable change in the coming annual congress is oral presentation, which
is run unopposed by any other sessions. The society has decided to steer the congress to be more research-oriented, and do hope all attendees participate in and enjoy the research outcomes and in-depth discussion. The theme of the KSCCM-JSICM joint congress this year is Rapid response system. We believe this symposium will help enlarge the future perspective of RRS of asian countries. As usual, the socentific program will provide a few simulation sessions and hands-on workshops for limited number of attendees.

Basic Critical Care Review Course held every year in conjunction with the annual congress is especially for new comers both physicians and nurses to critical care medicine. The BCCRC along with Multiprofessional Critical Care Review Course (MCCRC) is a manadatory course for qualification for subspecialty examination.

As is obvious to all, external environment surrounding academic societies have become harsh these days. To cope with this financial challenge, we were obliged to increase the registration fee this year, and we ask the generous understanding from all members in this regard. Nevertheless, through excellent scientific program and participation of prominent international and domestic speakers, we expect this coming congress will turn out to be a big satisfaction for all of us.

Looking forward to seeing you in blooming Apr, 2017.

Chae-Man Lim, MD, PhD, FCCM
The President of Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine
